Cara Haughey

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at University of Richmond. I earned my Ph.D. in economics at Michigan State University in 2026.

I primarily study health economics and public finance, with a particular emphasis on how social circumstances influence health and well-being, commonly called social determinants of health. I also draw insights from environmental and urban economics.

My current research examines demand for and provision of charitable social services, like food pantries.
